Dr. Steven Samuelson, Optometrist
Dr. Steven Samuelson was born and raised in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After completing his graduate studies at Illinois College of Optometry, he graduated cum laude with a Doctor of Optometry degree.
While at ICO, he received a Presidential Scholarship––one of the top awards given to students and was given the Council of Ethics Professionalism Award. He completed rotations in Advanced Care, Emergency Care, Vitreo-retinal service, Pediatrics, Contact Lenses and Low Vision. He also completed a hospital externship at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital. He was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and Tomb and Key Honor Society. He is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and Wisconsin Optometric Association (WOA). Dr. Samuelson enjoys watching sports, especially the Packers and Badgers and spending time with his children.
Dr. Lauren Ta, Optometrist
Dr. Lauren Ta grew up in Southern California and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California-Riverside. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and completed graduate studies at the Illinois College of Optometry where she graduated cum laude in 1995. While at ICO, she did rotations in Advanced Care, Vitreo-retinal service, Glaucoma, Pediatrics, Low Vision, and Contact Lenses. She then completed her externship rotations at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital and Warren Barr Pavilion.
While at ICO, she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and Tomb and Key Honor Society. She received the Pediatrics/Binocular Vision Distinction Award and Primary Care/Advanced Care Distinction Award. She was awarded the Pilkington Barnes Hind Student Distinction Award for excellence in contact lenses, and the NoIR Medical Technologies Award. She is a member of the AOA and WOA. Dr. Ta enjoys reading, watching sports (especially soccer), and spending time with her family.
Becky
Becky has been with Samuelson Eyecare for 22 years as an optometric technician. She helps with general office duties and performs specialty diagnostic procedures. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, spending time with her family and the outdoors.
Susan
Susan has been with Samuelson Eyecare for three years as an optometric technician and office assistant. She can help you schedule appointments, contact lens trainings and other general office duties. She also performs pretests on patients prior to their exams. Susan enjoys art, reading and visiting the Wisconsin Memorial Union and Farmers Market, especially with her family.
Michelle
Michelle is our Insurance Coordinator and has been with Samuelson Eyecare for 15 years. She is responsible for the coordination and processing of insurance payments and can help you with your insurance questions. She also maintains the website. She enjoys crafting, and spending time with her family.
Kelly
Originally from Dodgeville, Kelly is an ABO Certified Optician and has been in the optical field for over 22 years. She enjoys assisting patients with eyewear selection that best fits their style and needs. Kelly can also help with eyewear adjustments, repairs or any other questions you may have. When she is not working, Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. Together, they enjoy camping, vacationing to warmer weather and attending sports events.
Krista
Krista has been an ABO-Certified Optician and has been in the eyecare field for 26 years. She is more than happy to assist you with all your eyewear needs. She is originally from the Mount Horeb/Blue Mounds area and enjoys spending her free time outdoors with her dogs.
